students may enroll in session 1  or 2 ( 2 1/2 days)  or take both ( full week)
each session is $2,500 or the week for 4,500
no experience necessary
 Session 1 -  direct method with talavera ceramics, tile and pottery 
 Monday, Tuesday  ( 10 -5) and Wedneday morning ( 10 -1)  -- -create a frame, trivet, planter, vase or wallhanging ....or 2 items if you are fast!
MATERIALS INCLUDED FOR 1 PIECE Approximately 14" x 14 " - you may also bring your own materials - broken plates etc and if you wish to make more than one project and can in the time available, additional materials are available at a low cost.

Session 2  Indirect method ( Architectural applications and tables) with talavera tile and ceramic
Wednesday pm 2 - 5, Thursday, Friday 10 - 5

learn how to make a table top, inset for a kitchen or bath feature,  tile  accent border or what ever your imagination leads you to.....

50% deposit necessary to secure your place

Whole week - ( $4,500) 5 days covering both methods, technical info, applications, and designs includes materials to create 2 pieces of work.
Full week session also includes a lecture and demo on various other mosaic techniques, applications, and materials.

-select and prepare a surface( substrate)  for mosaic tiles
-learn the difference between various tiles, materials, and objects and how you can use them in your mosaic
-become familiar with technical information on adhesives, grouts, and sealers to make a high quality, durable,  and long lasting product
- learn mosaic art "language"  and formal elements - andamento, texture, color, scale, and design with a short historical review including MEXICAN Mosaics
- learn techniques and process which can take you onto bigger projects utilizing the skills and knowledge you acquire during this intensive and exciting week
- take home unique and beautiful home accessories to liven up your decor
